Choosing the right course starts with understanding the "O'Level" and "JAMB" subject combinations. A mismatch here can cost you admission, regardless of your score.
- English Language is compulsory for ALL courses.
- Mathematics is required for almost all Science and Social Science courses.
- Literature is key for Arts and Law.

Other Requirements
Candidates must have at least 5 Credits in WAEC/NECO/GCE at not more than two sittings. For Medicine & Surgery, one sitting is often preferred by top universities. Civic Education is compulsory for WAEC/NECO registration but not always a core admission requirement.

For Medicine & Surgery, 280+ is often the safe zone in schools like UNILAG, UI, UNIBEN.
Nursing and Med Lab often accept lower scores here compared to Federal.

Other engineering fields often accept 180-200 depending on demand.

Note on Mathematics
For Law, a Credit in Mathematics is required by many top universities (like UNILAG, UI). For other Arts courses (Theatre Arts, History), a Pass (D7/E8) in Mathematics may be accepted, but Credit is safer.
